The Pleasure Dome is an online learning community for writers, readers and other creative people who use words for work, pleasure, self discovery and communication. It offers low cost writing and multimedia tuition, personal and professional support, friendship and respect for anyone who joins and keeps our primary rule of kindness toward others, regardless of ability, education, background or location.
It’s also a legally incorporated non profit members Cooperative which tries to facilitate cooperative and collaborative art, such as our literary food magazine ‘Madelaine’ (click me) and our newest project, funded by Felix Dennis, a cd rom for Teens teaching healthy eating through poetry, prose, fiction, music, artwork, recipes and humour.
Members can take part in these projects as well as receiving support for their own projects, individual or collaborative.
The Dome started as a free inclusive site on MSN called The Pleasure Dome (click me), which now has almost 1600 members and which is now run by long time Domer, Shona Mckenzie.
In August 2005, we opened Teen Scene (click me), a free, inclusive site for teenagers, which is managed by Kazzie, Carrie Anne Bonnington and supervised by myself and other senior Dome Managers.
In return for a modest joining fee, you can be an important part of this; Managers and paid support staff are appointed from the general membership; as the site grows, opportunities for members grow. In unity, we have not just strength but synergy.
You are welcome to look at what we do, to enjoy the creativity and companionship of The Domes as a free member. Just click here to Register; you’ll receive email newsletters, special offers and be able to post on our ‘Public House’ boards in the Writer’s Forums.
